Why Choose This Unique Experience?

Embark on an extraordinary safari experience that combines the thrill of witnessing the Great Migration with the luxury of staying at one of Kenya’s Masai Mara most exclusive camps. This unique experience offers unparalleled access to the spectacular river crossings that define East Africa’s most celebrated wildlife spectacle.

The Ultimate Safari Experience

Your safari experience begins with a scenic flight over Kenya’s iconic landscapes, offering breathtaking aerial views before landing directly in the heart of the Mara. This flying safari eliminates long road transfers, maximizing your time for exceptional game viewing in one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich destinations.

During peak migration season (July-October), witness the dramatic river crossings where nearly 2 million wildebeest and zebras brave crocodile-infested waters in their ancient journey between Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara. The optimal period to witness the Great Migration in the Masai Mara is mid-July to early September, with river crossings occurring as herds move north into the Masai Mara from July to October.

Your safari coincides with one of nature’s most magnificent phenomena. The Great Migration represents an ancient cycle where nearly 2 million animals follow an age-old circular route between Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve.

Beyond the Migration

Even outside migration season, the Masai Mara ecosystem offers incredible game viewing opportunities:

  • Africa’s highest concentration of big cats
  • Abundant elephant and buffalo herds
  • Over 450 recorded bird species
  • Spectacular landscapes for photography
  • Rich Maasai cultural experiences

While Giraffe Manor in Nairobi offers unique giraffe interactions, Sala’s Camp provides authentic wilderness encounters where giraffes roam freely across endless savannas.

Following breakfast, we'll embark on a full-day game drive, complete with a packed lunch. The reserve is renowned for its black-manned lions and abundant resident wildlife. It's a rare gem where encountering the Big Five during a morning game drive is entirely feasible. Remarkably, many cheetahs are so accustomed to human presence that they seek refuge from the sun beneath vehicles, and some even climb onto the roofs for a better vantage point of potential prey. The Mara plays host to the breathtaking seasonal migration of thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and their accompanying predators. For avid birdwatchers, the reserve boasts nearly 500 recorded species, including 16 types of eagle, numerous hawks and falcons, 6 varieties of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 types of bustards (including the kori bustard, the world's heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.
